LCT is focused on developing treatments for diseases that have no cure, and a clear, unmet need for improved management. LCT has adopted four long-term strategies that will enable it to commercialise its products as early as possible.

This approach means LCT is fully focused on achieving availability of its products to the wide a number of people in need of them and at the same time achieving early returns to its shareholders.

LCT maintains a number of product development streams to diversify risk and material cost while enhancing the company’s global market opportunities.

DiabeCell®

DiabeCell® is a porcine, insulin-producing cell product for the treatment of Type 1 diabetes.  These islet cells are self-regulating and efficiently secrete insulin in the patient’s body.

NTCell®

NTCell® is a choroid plexus cell product with the potential to treat degenerative diseases of the nervous system including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease and stroke.

Fac8Cell

Fac8Cell is a liver product aimed at producing factor 8, a blood clotting agent absent or defective in people with haemophilia.  There are also potential applications of the treatment in liver failure and inborn errors of metabolism.

Porcine Tissues

A range of tissues is now available for licence and for sale from LCT's biocertified pig herd.

Encapsulation Technology

LCT’s encapsulation technology is based on a patented process which involved wrapping healthy, living porcine cells in an alginate capsule, allowing them to be safely implanted into patients without the need for immunosuppressive drugs.  These cells act to replace or repair damaged tissue in patients.
